You're thinking of a research project of the market? If so, you can discuss whether it should take a body outside of market research or to do it in-house. Of course, in collaboration with an agency, market research is a big investment. Depending on the scope of your project, you may be looking at a $ 50,000, $ 100,000 or greater budget. Then again, an approach DIY can also add up, perhaps much more than expected. In fact, the "cost" of a project do it yourself "is not only out of pocket expenses, is the time to do it well. I have seen many customers decide to pursue a "do it yourself, and then arrange to drive that does not have the skills or time to design, implement and deliver results. Thanks to great online tools like SurveyMonkey, Zoomerang and Wufoo, do it yourself "is certainly an option. DIY is best used when the following conditions are met: Are you sure you can write a questionnaire so that it will acquire information objects (and this may be the case if you are tackling a subject of close and it really is only need to ask, for example, from eight to ten questions) Realistically, the time to do project management in-house, you have the tools and skills in-house to clean the collected data and analyze it you have the resources in -house that can report the results so that will be credible to their colleagues which they have access to a sample source for quality (the people who are qualified to take your questionnaire) need not be blind to the research (which is willing to disclose your company as a sponsor) If these conditions are all true, then the choice of an "DIY may be okay. But if not, it's time to take a market research agency.
