Explain two ways in which sales representatives can assist companies with market research.

but think about it like this… who actually interacts with the customers? Who gets the “from the horses mouth” comments about product, practices, and such? Who sees what works, and what doesnt? your sales reps. Sales reps are paid semi-decent money to be aware of the customers constantly changing needs, and server as the communicator between consumer and producer.
1. Sales representatives are the ones who actually talk to the customers. They hear from the customers’ own mouths what the customers want, what’s important to them. Usually they know better than the marketing department what will sell and what won’t.
2. Sales reps track the reputation of the company with the customers. They know what the customers’ complaints are, where the company’s products need improvement,and what upgrades and improvements the customers would most like to see.
3. Sales reps are in a position to talk to customers about prospective new products and to get feedback. ‘What if my company made something like this? Would you be interested?’ Since in many cases the sales reps have the job of keeping in touch with customers, they can gather this information fairly easily.
